自由独立才是真 so well said! i've thought about proxies a lot too. i'm not in ML, but i realized real-world proxies mostly exist because directly observing the ability itself is so much harder than observing the proxy. like why GPA and school brand can't really represent a student's ability but still matter so much: companies can't learn a student's core abilities from an online application or a short interview. your thinking is so interesting, keep posting and i'll keep watching!

Dw ok ok, thank you, i'll learn from you. i did one online hackathon before and learned a lot, but in-person ones feel more challenging (original: 好的好的，谢谢你，我要向你学习在此之前，我也参加过一场线上hackathon，确实学到了很多。
Endlesssummer do you have to find teammates yourself? (original: 08-09
sissi half the time i chat with people there and team up if we like the same idea; if not, going solo works too! 08-09
Endlesssummer ok, thanks babe (original:
unknown caller hi, i'm a 19-year-old student taking a gap year. have you ever tried online hackathons, and would they help me get more opportunities and grow? (original: Hi, I'm a 19 year old student currently taking a gap year. I was just wondering if you had ever tried hackathons online, and will it help me in terms of getting more opportunities and growth.)08-12 ♡ 1
sissi hey! online is a great place to start, and once you've got a couple under your belt, try an offline one. in person ones are way more immersive, and you end up meeting people outside your own team!08-12
unknown caller i'm interested in the competitions as a way to get wider exposure and, if possible, improve my resume. but i have zero experience, no idea how hackathons actually work, and haven't started my undergrad courses, so i'm afraid i might not be able to contribute to my team. (original: I'm interested in the competitions as a way to get wider exposure and if possible, improve my resume. But I have zero experience, no idea how hackathons actually work, and have not yet started my undergraduate courses, so I'm afraid I might not be able to contribute to my team.)08-12
unknown caller so i didn't dare look for teammates to begin with. are there any skills you'd recommend learning before starting, or suggestions on how to start and find teammates? (original: And thus did not dare to find teammates to begin with. May I ask if there's any skills you would recommend for me to learn before starting, or any suggestions on how to start and find teammates to join.)08-12
sissi everyone feels that, even people who've done twenty. every team has work nobody wants to do. the demo video, the slides, the readme, stress testing to find what breaks, talking to judges. that stuff decides who wins more often than people admit. do it well and you're already useful.08-12
sissi what to learn first: i think it's less than you think! build one tiny thing end to end with an AI coding tool. one weekend, doesn't matter what. you're gonna learn most real skills by being in it.08-12
sissi for teammates: post two lines in the event discord saying what you want to build and what you'll take on. be specific about what you want and most of the time you'll get what you want! or sign up solo, most events will match you.08-12
unknown caller thanks, these are really helpful (original: Thanks these are really helpful)08-12

黒猫 when you're single with no kids you're in full control of your life and can do the work you love all the time. with a partner and kids you really feel pulled in different directions, and you should make time for family, even when you still want to do your own thing. on your own it's fine, but with a family it's truly different (original: 单身，没有小朋友，可以完全掌控自己的生活，想一直做自己喜欢的（工作）都可以。
sissi parents are incredible! so much time and energy given (original: 父母亲都很伟大！
自由独立才是真 so really stick to what you want, don't get talked into having kids by others (like parents or friends, or forgetting your own mind because your friends are having them) (original: 所以真的要坚守初心、不能被别人（比如父母朋友啥的如果他们都说生或者看朋友他们生就忘记自己想法）忽悠了生孩子)08-10 ♡ 1

surfer蓝恺 that's epic! which agentmail API did you use? and is the Nia you mentioned the trynia one? i recently built an AI tool for on-site material reports at construction sites that's pretty similar to yours (original: That's epic!
sissi your project sounds so interesting! it's AgentMail, the one where agents get their own inbox, webhooks for receiving + sending! and yes Nia is trynia, mostly for cross-referencing and context retrieval (original: 你的项目应用好有意思！

sissi there are authorization limits! offshore platforms have a duty-holder system and regulators still hold the engineer responsible. so the agent doesn't replace the engineer; it helps them make better-grounded decisions faster, and leaves a full audit trail (original: 有授权边界！
